About Becky's Best
Our Mission
Becky began this business with the goal of bringing the unique afternoon tea experience to people's homes. It began during the pandemic, when people were unable to leave for meals and events on their own, with a lack of this type of experience delivered. Now she runs the business solo with occasional culinary help from her friend David and her brothers John and Mark, as well as lots of support from her daughter Jessica.
Everyone at Becky's Best came together to create our very own take on the British afternoon tea tradition, with more numerous small bites to get a variety of unique flavors that is certain to fill you up as a full meal would. At Becky's Best we strive to bring an authentic but unique experience to you with fresh gourmet foods and specialty imported teas.
About the Chef
Becky Weaver
Becky came from the very culinary-focused Weaver family, a well known name in western suburbs. Her twin brothers Mark and John owned and operated the Pennsylvania Dutch restaurant Inglenook Pantry with the help of their parents. Originally in St. Charles in the 1980's it later moved to Geneva in the 90's. It's no surprise that she, too, would become enamored with the culinary arts. Quickly, she made a name for herself by opening up Becky's Bakery, operating initially with Inglenook but later as her own independent business. As her own pastry chef she became widely known in the tri-cities for her pies, breads, scones, and more!

Her first child, Jessica, grew up in the bakery in the early 90's up until her second child Jerry was born. Afterwards she chose to move on from the responsibilities of an independent business, exploring other positions to support her children as a single mom. Over the last few decades she has worked a very diverse series of positions all within the culinary field, including large-scale cooking, catering, cake decorating, and beyond. She always remained near to her brothers and Inglenook, regularly baking for them and helping with the farmer's markets.

In the late 2000's, she briefly ventured back into her own business - opening up a seasonal ice cream shop near the Fox River that featured homemade ice cream, soft serve frozen yogurt, and fresh-grilled foods. The ice cream shop inspired the first use of the name Becky's Best, later to become something even better.
In recent years she was the official pastry chef at Balmoral Restaurant, honing her professional baking and pastry skills that she was truly passionate for, getting back into the field she loved most.
After the pandemic resulted in a lay off from Balmoral, this gave her the time and opportunity to develop the idea of a new business with the help of her daughter Jessica. Inspired by the lack of afternoon tea experiences in the area, especially for delivery during the pandemic, she partnered up with Dave to create the new and improved Becky's Best. She hopes in the future to open a small brick-and-mortar site for the afternoon tea, but is delighted to be back to making delicious gourmet pastries once again.
